SAMPLE ITINERARY FOR INDIVIDUAL GROUPS
Day 1:RIGA AND SURROUNDINGS - Bed and Breakfast:
We start early and make the most of the day. After a night transfer to the airport, we will have a direct flight to Riga. Upon arrival, we’ll head out to explore the surroundings.
We will visit the beautiful Turaida Museum and Reserve, known as the “God’s Gardens,” which includes a castle, gardens, a blacksmith’s workshop, and Gutman’s Cave. Next, we will continue to Aerodium, where you can optionally try indoor skydiving in a wind tunnel. After lunch, we’ll stop at the Open-Air Ethnographic Museum, which showcases ancient Latvian lifestyles in a beautiful natural park.
In the late afternoon, we’ll drive to Riga and check into a hotel near the city center. You can explore the nightlife or relax. (Hotel, Breakfast)
Day 2: RIGA BY BIKE – Bed and Breakfast:
After breakfast, we’ll explore the city by bike. We’ll discover all the beauty of Riga, from the “Quiet District” in Art Nouveau style to the infamous “Moscow District,” from bustling central squares to tranquil parks and cemeteries, and from Russian, German, and Soviet occupations to independence.
Riga, the largest of the three Baltic capitals, boasts a variety of architectural styles. The Central Market in Riga, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of the largest and most visited markets in Eastern Europe.
We will conclude the day in the city center. For those interested, we can take a tram ride to Labietis, a top-notch brewery that brews its own beer. Overnight. (Hotel, Breakfast)
Day 3: DISCOVERING RIGA CITY CENTER – Bed and Breakfast:
After breakfast, we’ll explore the city on foot. A full-day tour of the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the New Town, featuring landmarks such as the Albertina Palace, the Cathedral, the Central Market, the Riga Ghetto, and St. Peter’s Church. In the afternoon, you have free time for shopping or, if desired, a guided tour of the Latvijas Balzams factory, where premium Latvian spirits are produced.
In the evening, we’ll end the day at a good local restaurant (Folkklubs or its neighbors) with delicious Latvian food and local drinks. Overnight. (Hotel, Breakfast)
Day 4: RIGA AND RETURN HOME
After breakfast, you’ll have the morning free for a walk around the center or shopping. Around noon, we’ll leave the hotel and head to the airport. We will then fly to Vienna and transfer to Ljubljana-Postojna, arriving in the late evening.
